What we collect, and why.
Anything Namibia runs this site on its own servers in Windhoek. We keep what we collect to the minimum.
Who is responsible
Anything Namibia, Windhoek, Namibia. You can reach us through the contact form.
The contact form
When you send the form we receive the name, email address, company (if you give one), topic and message you type. We use them only to answer you. The form endpoint does not store submissions in a database. The message reaches us by email and stays in our mailbox until we no longer need it for the conversation. A short internal notice with your name, company and topic, but not your message, is also sent to our team chat.
To stop spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It runs a short check in your browser, and our endpoint passes your IP address to Cloudflare to verify the result. To limit abuse, the endpoint also counts requests per IP address in memory for a short time. We do not write IP addresses to logs or to disk.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address in our own newsletter system on our own servers, so we can send you new posts and project notes. We ask you to confirm your address by email first. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all mail to you.
Visit statistics
We count visits with Umami, a statistics tool that we host ourselves. It sets no cookies, builds no profile of you and does not follow you across sites. It counts page views, referrers and countries in aggregate. Because of this, the site shows no cookie banner.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare sits in front of this site for speed and protection, so your request passes through its network. It handles that traffic under its own privacy terms.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your details.
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not load fonts, scripts or images from other companies, apart from the Cloudflare check on the contact form.
Deletion and your rights
To see what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, send us a message through the contact form and say which address to look for. We will confirm when it is done. You can leave the newsletter at any time with the link in any email.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we update this page before the change goes live.
